Sugar Cookie Bones!

For Halloween this year, I made all sorts of spooky treats! One of the easiest ones I made were my sugar cookie bones!  With the bone cookie pan from Wilton, it made it even easier.

Sugar Cookie Recipe

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  3. Take small portions of your dough and mold it into your cookie pan.
  4. Place in the oven for about 7 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  5. Wait for the cookies to cool before flipping them out of the pan.  The cookies will still be soft so be careful. As they cool, they'll harden and maintain their shape.
